WHY MY PROGRAMS?
First of all, let me say I would be thrilled to work with you and so appreciate your spending your time, energy and hard earned money right here. That means a lot to me and I want you to feel confident in your investment. I have been a fitness addict for as long as I can remember. I have been in the fitness and wellness business for over twenty years. I have the health, business and life experience to help you get where you want to be on your personal journey. I have been passionate about all things health since my high school days. I know from personal experience the terrible effects of poor habits, poor nutrition, and an unhealthy lifestyle. I have a personal story that has influenced my choices and beliefs in the importance of healthy choices. I have personally not been blessed with those long-lasting genes, so I am here to show that our lifestyle choices can override those genes inherited at birth!
WHY MY BETTER & BEYOND PROGRAM?
I have always loved sharing anything I have learned with anyone who will listen! I take a realistic approach to health and creating a life of health and balance from the inside, out and in between. I have had my own struggles and am in no way perfect. I have a true passion for women of all ages, especially those at forty and beyond, and helping them live their fullest life. I believe as women live longer and gain more life experiences, they now have greater opportunities to become their ultimate BEST at whatever age and BEYOND.
I want to be right there with you, walking your walk, and motivate each person to make the best choices. This Program is for YOU and where I use my gifts to steer you to make the best of each and every day for your journey.
I want to help you cut through all of the noise out there. There are so many promises being made for quick fixes, weight loss diets, complicated menus to follow, and long and difficult workouts to fit in your already full day. I am not here to sell you on a gimmick or pull the wool over your eyes.
Through BETTER & BEYOND, you will create habits to be fueled and energized throughout your day. You will NOT go hungry. You will NOT follow some pre-set complicated diet. Your hormone levels will naturally improve so you’ll stop fighting cravings. You will learn to eat intentionally so you can listen to your body and eat what you need when you need it. Intuitive eating will give you freedom from food and thinking of what to eat and not eat on a daily basis.
Through the workouts, which are not watered down, (I promise!) you will get stronger, fitter and gain lean muscle mass which is a huge metabolism boost.
You will also learn to listen to your body to rest and find ways to feed your heart. As a woman, you have likely spent years giving to those around you. You may have forgotten your personal gifts, personal preferences, talents and goals. Now is the time to focus on you and developing what makes your heart shine.
I know that when you are healthier you will be happier and have the energy and focus to give back to your family, friends, community and church in ways that meet your purpose.

No matter how bad my week has been, a Friday Sculpt and Tone class with Marla-Deen puts a smile on my face and a spring in my step. Her upbeat, cheery demeanor makes us forget about the drudgery of exercise, and she’s always got a funny story to tell during particularly grueling moves. Marla-Deen’s passion for what she does goes beyond the gym, as she’s always reading up on the latest findings and science, discovering new moves and tips we can use at home or while traveling. Needless to say, things never get boring, and she’s always changing the class up and incorporating combination moves for an incomparable total-body workout. What a treasure she is!!!
