Hi and welcome! I am a wife, mother of 3 boys, blogger, retired attorney, group fitness instructor, and health and fitness nerd. I began this site as a fun way to communicate with folks about anything related to health, fitness, workouts, nutrition and recipes.
I am a self-professed “fitness nerd” and will talk about it to anyone who will listen! I am from South Georgia and live in Atlanta. I am a wife, mother of three boys, three dogs and a leopard ghecko. We have a very busy, crazy, sport-filled and active life. I do my best to keep it all as balanced and healthy as possible! I am a Journalism major, “retired” attorney, group fitness instructor and trainer.
Here, you will find posts with information ranging from workouts to try, recent studies, motivation, inspiration, health, nutrition, recipes and tons of other topics that surface. Since beginning writing this site I’ve seen fitness trends ignite, others wane and studies come, go and change completely. I also see differences in the health and fitness needs change for women, and also for men, as we move from the all out twenty something craziness into our forty-something years and on. Weeding through all of the tips, trends and information can seem daunting . . . but I think it all comes down to balance.
It’s not all about workouts and exercise. Check out my healthy recipes because we all know we can’t out train a poor diet! We can, however, outrun the effects of aging. As my gene pool isn’t stellar I am convinced that my lifestyle can beat any “born with” odds. I believe that lifestyle choices we make right now determine not only how quickly we age but how long we will live, and most importantly, the quality of our lives. Health needs to be a choice and a priority! I have a sticky note on my computer that says, “Don’t just prioritize your schedule – schedule your priorities”!
