This may sound a little crazy to you.  Sure, you haven’t been sleeping well, maybe getting up during the night, rising really early to begin the day, staying on a constant hamster wheel of going to bed tired and waking tired because you are not getting good sleep.  It is a terrible thing for your health and any weight loss goals.  
I read recently that sleep deprivation is a little like credit card debt.  If you keep gaining credit card debt you will eventually pay a higher interest rate or your account will shut down until you pay it off.  The same can be said for the body.  If you accumulate too much sleep debt your body will also shut down.
