As lots of folks are starting off the New Year with health and wellness at the top of the list, I have had some email, Facebook and text questions about healthy options, recipes and tips. Well, I am right there with the rest of you. I tend to live by the 80/20 rule on a regular basis, meaning 80% clean eating and allowing for 20% enjoyment.
When it’s time to reign things in after a bit of overindulging I move toward more of a 90/10 rule for a little bit just to get back to feeling healthier, more energetic and more like myself. I have shared with you all that I am on board with the Whole30 Program until the end of the month just to keep myself accountable and get the excess sugar, any processed foods and alcohol out of my system. I can already say I’m feeling more energized and sleeping better. I am in no way saying this is the best course to go for everyone out there. There are lots of different ways to lighten up the diet without even following a program. I have said it before, I think we all know WHAT to do. We know WHAT to eat and what NOT to eat. It is simply a matter of just doing it. Right? And, let’s be honest. If it were always easy and if we were not always bombarded with unhealthy options at every turn then we wouldn’t need the motivation, the nutritional reminders and the endless articles about eating healthy.
If you simply want to get away from some of the junk you may have been indulging in and want some simple, easy options then please check out my FREE Ebook, 5 in 5, 5 Days of 5 clean, quick meals to leave you light and nourished! It is full of easy, healthy options for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. I wrote this book to share my “go to” easy eats that I rely on to stay fueled and satisfied. These are basic staples I keep in rotation in my diet all the time.
